We hope to see a lot of our MVFit Gym & Pilates Studio Community down at this years Carol’s on Sat 7th Dec, 2024 and enjoy the free entertainment that the Moonee Valley City Council has organised for us all.

It’s a wonderful time of year Christmas, so if you are in the Moonee Valley area and looking for something to do why not join us all with a free evening of carols, children’s activities and festive cheer in Queens Park.
Pack a picnic, gather your family and friends and enjoy an outstanding line-up of local performers, schools and community groups including Moonee Valley Brass Inc and Moonee Valley Community Choir.

We also recommend bringing a picnic blanket to relax on and enjoy the beautiful evening.
Candles, food and refreshments will also be onsite for purchase.

What's On / Who is Performing for 2024

There is a great line up of performers this year again. Come and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with a free evening of carols, children’s activities and festive cheer in Queens Park.
Richard Thomas MC for the evening
Richard Thomas will again be Carols MC and has been delighting Melbourne crowds for over twenty-five years.
Denis Walter OAM
Denis Walter OAM, veteran recording artist and top rating 3AW Radio announcer will be performing at the carols this year.
He performs every Christmas Eve at the annual Carols by Candlelight concert and will be at Queens Park now too!
Moonee Valley Brass
Moonee Valley Brass is one of the local community’s longest running community groups. Originally Essendon City Band, they have been performing at local community events and at competitions around the country and overseas for over 100 years.
Local Community Choir
The Moonee Valley Community Choir is back again for 2024 and is made up of members of the local community. No experience necessary to join.
This group is proudly made up of people of all ages and abilities who share a love of music and song.
Tahlia Eve
Tahlia Eve is a Pop/RnB, Singer/Songwriter from Melbourne and will be on stage performing during the carols this year.

Teeny Tiny Stevies
Teeny Tiny Stevies is a children’s music group established in 2015 by sisters Bethany ‘Beth’ and Sibylla ‘Byll’ Stephen, who also perform as the indie folk band The Little Stevies.
The ARIA winning Teeny Tiny Stevies have performed at Queens Park at previous Carols and will be back again and great for young families.

Activities and Entertainment at the Carols
The MVCC will also be adding in activities and entertainment for the evening with a number of things to do.
MOVE Moonee Valley - Kids Activities
MOVE Moonee Valley provides a range of leisure and fitness services at each of the Council's aquatic centres. This year the leisure centre staff will be running some exciting children's activities.
Hoop Sparx - Hoola Hooping
Look out for hooping around Queens Park during the Carols with Hoop Sparx. They do Hula hoopla for all. Fun, fitness & flow. For kids, adults, corporates & communities. Learn more at hoopsparx.com

Food and Refreshments at the Carols
Pack a picnic and enjoy the music and entertainment. There will also be a number of food trucks serving food and drinks throughout the evening. Coffee and Sweets, Pizza, Burgers, Indian, Italian Subs, Sushi and Noodles, Mexican, Sausage Sizzle, Fairy Floss, Soft Serve and Gelati.
Vendors will have Eftpos facilities and there will be no ATMS on site.

What to Bring To Queens Park
Food and Drinks (Alcohol Is Permitted)
There will be a range of food vendors on site but everyone is also encouraged to bring your own food, picnic or snacks to enjoy the throughout the evening.
You may also bring alcohol, but remember that the Xmas Carols is a family event and you should be responsible with drinking in non-breakable cups.
The event will also be monitored by security.
Seating Options
Bring a picnic blanket, low chairs, and / or pillows. If you're planning on bringing along higher camp chairs, please be considerate of your fellow audience members and set up your chair at the rear sections or away from others’ viewing sightlines.
Toilets and Water Drinking Stations
Toilets
There'll be plenty of temporary toilets available on the day located near the Mount Alexander Road and Pascoe Vale Road entrances.
Water Stations
There will be hydration stations available to fill up your water bottle. Alternatively, you can visit the water fountain in the park to keep hydrated.
ATM's (No ATM's)
There will be no ATMS on site. Food Truck vendors will have Eftpos facilities. Additional ATMs can be found on Puckle St or in Moonee Ponds Central.
Accessibility
The Moonee Valley Council always does a great job of making all their events to be as accessible as possible. Accessible toilets will be available, and songs will be interpreted by Auslan - Stage Left. This event is wheelchair accessible. If you would like to discuss access needs it would be best to get in touch with eventsandactivations@mvcc.vic.gov.au
Where is Queens Park in Moonee Ponds?

Parking around Queens Park is limited and it is encouraged for everyone to take public transport where possible.
Getting There
- Train - Just a 5-minute walk from Moonee Ponds Train Station.
- Tram - The nearest tram stop is Stop 32 (Kellaway Avenue/Mt Alexander Rd) on the route 59 tram.
- Bus - Routes 404, 469, 472, 476, 477, 483, 504, 505, 506 all stop near Queens Park.
- Parking - There is parking along Mt Alexander Rd, The Strand and nearby side streets. Please check parking signs for time limits.
I’m sure most of our local gym and pilates members at MVFit know where Queens Park is located, but for those who are not familiar with where it is we have added a map below.
From the gym at 378 Mt Alexander Road, Travancore VIC if you head up Mt Alexander road heading away from the city, it is only about 2km away.

Queens Park is a fantastic park, with lots of great grassed areas for exercise, and hopefully on Sat 7th Dec we can get some nice weather for the Christmas Carols in 2024.

Just a quick reminder to everyone that we are putting on our Gym and Pilates Members Xmas Party at the Carols and at the Moonee Ponds Bowling Club Barefoot Bowls this year - drinks will be provided. Family & Friends Welcome!
MVFit Members Xmas Party
We love being part of the Moonee Valley community and we definitely plan to bring the family and set up a picnic again down at this years Xmas Carols. We would also love to see some of the Moonee Valley Health and Fitness members come down to this years event as well and help support the local performers, schools and community groups.
We will also be setting up Bare Foot Bowls and a Bar Tab at the Moonee Ponds Bowling Club at Queens Park in the afternoon.
If you do plan to attend this years carols, please let our trainers know and we would be happy for anyone and everyone to join us.
