Exercise Physiology Medicare EPCs / CDMs / CCM Plan for 2026

There are several changes to Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) items which will also effect the Medicare rebates for all allied health services.
The Medicare indexation rate has been announced, with a 2.6% increase to rebates effective from 1 July 2026.
The single GP Chronic Condition Management Plans (GPCCMP) replaces the current GP Management Plan (GPMP) and Team Care Arrangements (TCA).
While the number of allied health sessions available under the plans have not changed, the requirement to consult with two providers has been removed and there is a focus on increasing patient choice. It is important to note changes in how patients are referred to our clinic.
Our Medicare exercise physiology service currently has no-wait list and accepting Medicare CDM and EPC referrals for exercise physiology appointments in our Melbourne clinic.
Your GP determines whether you are eligible and would benefit from a care plan and Medicare rebates are available for a maximum of 5 appointments per patient each calendar year.
From July 1, 2026 the Medicare rebate is $63.40 per session.
