Fitness Assessment Testing

We are always looking at improving ourselves and what better way to do this, than putting yourself to the test!

Fitness testing is a great way to measure your progress and also pushing you the extra bit to beat your previous time, weight lifted or ability.

At our studio in Ascot Vale we provide Fitness Assessment Testing for those who would like to keep track of their fitness goals and also if you need to pass a fitness assessment for your chosen career path.

All the emergency services in Melbourne, such as the Police Force, Protective Services Officer (PSO), CFA, MFB and the Australian Defence Force all require you to pass a range of fitness tests before you can enter the recruitment process.

Below is a list of tests for each emergency service and the pass marks which our trainer’s can get you fit and ready for:

Police Force

  • Beep Test: PASS – 5.1
  • Push Ups: PASS – 5 on Toes
  • Agility Illionios Test: PASS – Under 20 seconds
  • Prone Hold: PASS – 1 minute
  • Hand Grip Test: PASS – 30kg each hand
  • 1.3m Obstacle Climb
  • 100m Swim

PSO – Protective Service Officer

  • Beep Test: PASS – 5.1
  • Push Ups: PASS – 5 on Toes
  • Agility Illionios Test: PASS – Under 20 seconds
  • Prone Hold: PASS – 1 minute
  • Hand Grip Test: PASS – 30kg each hand
  • 1.3m Obstacle Climb

CFA/MFB – Country Fire Brigade / Melbourne Fire Brigade

  • Beep Test: PASS – 9.6
  • Tunnel Crawl
  • 64mm Hose Haul
  • Hose Hold & Drag
  • Victim Rescue – Drag 72kg body
  • Balance Beam
  • Ladder Climb

ADF – Australian Defence Force

Army

  • Push Ups: PASS – 15 for males
  • Push Ups: PASS – 8 for females
  • Sit ups: PASS – 45
  • Beep Test – PASS 7.5

Navy

  • Push Ups: PASS – 15 for males
  • Push Ups: PASS – 6 for females
  • Sit ups: PASS – 20
  • Beep Test – PASS – 6.1

Airforce

  • Push Ups: PASS – 10 for males
  • Push Ups: PASS – 4 for females
  • Sit ups: PASS – 20
  • Beep Test – PASS – 6.5

Other Specialist ADF positions:

Navy Clearance Diver and Naval Reserve Diver

  • 6 heaves (chin-ups), 30 push-ups, 25 sit-ups and Beep Test to Level 10.1.

Air Force Ground Defence Officer and Airfield Defence Guard

  • 15 push-ups, 45 sit-ups and Beep Test to Level 7.5

Army Special Forces Direct Recruiting Scheme

  • 30 push-ups, 60 sit-ups and Beep Test to Level 10.1

You can test yourself with all different types of exercises or training drills. Our team of trainers will run the tests and provide a fitness program tailored for your training, and make improvements where necessary to ensure you that you are confident of passing each of the tests.
