As of July 2019, All eligible Victorians now have access to the NDIS.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was rolled out in Victoria first started in July 2016.
Initially it was rolled out in stages so current and new disability service providers had time to prepare.
Victoria statistics as of 31 March 2019
– 71,770 people in Victoria are benefiting from the NDIS
– 14,698 people are now receiving support for the first time
– 5,895 children are being supported by the ECEI program
All eligible Victorians now have access to the NDIS.
To become an NDIS participant a person must:
- Have a permanent impairment
- Be aged less than 65
- Live in Australia in an NDIS area
- Be an Australian citizen
