Exercise Right Week (20-26 May), promoted annually by Exercise & Sports Science Australia, is all about inspiring people to live happier and healthier lives by empowering them through exercise. It also celebrates the Accredited Exercise Physiologist and their mission in empowering people to exercise right for who they are and their condition.
Join the Exercise Right Challenge and engage in any movement for 30 minutes a day for 30 days in May. Whether it’s hiking, playing sport, gardening, housework or walking – just move!
The Exercise Right Challenge is designed to support you in creating daily healthy habits and incorporating movement into your regular routine. Let’s create a healthier and more active Australia together!

Organized by Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA), this week showcases the expertise of Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) and Accredited Exercise Scientists (AESs) in helping individuals achieve their fitness and health goals.

It’s also an opportunity for professionals like you to connect with the community, share expertise, and inspire others to prioritize their health through exercise.
Exercise Right Week Theme for 2024 - "JUST MOVE"
The theme for Exercise Right Week 2024 is “Just Move!” and emphasises the importance of incorporating movement into daily life. The aim is to encourage Australians to engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day to improve your overall health and well-being. This initiative highlights that every bit of movement counts, regardless of one’s fitness level or health status.
Exercise Right Week is an excellent opportunity for everyone, especially those living with chronic conditions, injuries, or other health challenges, to get moving and understand the benefits of regular physical activity. The campaign also stresses the importance of seeking guidance from accredited exercise professionals to ensure that individuals are exercising correctly and safely for their specific needs.
